The Scooterlife Service Department is open from 8am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

Service Tip 1

Tyre Pressures

Tyre pressures are one of the most important things to check on your scooter.

Under-inflation can cause the tyre to lose traction, with a loss of control.

Under-inflated tyres cause your scooter to use more fuel and tyres wear out prematurely.

You only have two tyres (okay, some of you now have three), so a few minutes a week to look after them means they will look after you!

Service Tip 2

Oil - 2 Stroke

Two-stroke oil should be checked weekly. On average, two-stroke engines will use about 1 litre per 1,000 kilometres.

If your oil warning light comes on, you have to fill the oil reservoir.

If you don’t refill the oil reservoir promptly it can damage your engine.

Always use two-stroke motorcycle oil, never outboard motor or lawnmower oil.

Oil - 4 Stroke

Four-stroke oil should be checked monthly, making sure the oil is cold, the dipstick is screwed in and the scooter is parked on a flat area.

Most four-strokes will use 10w40 motor oil, but always check your owner’s manual if you are not sure.

Service Tip 4

Lighting & Indicators

This is a very simple thing to check.

If your brake, tail or headlights and indicators are not functioning you are endangering yourself, as other motorist will not know what you are doing.

That can lead to an accident.

Service Tip 5

Transmission Service

This should be carried out by a professional technician, although it is a very simple transmission in the way it functions, if the crankshaft and driveshaft nuts are not assembled or tightened correctly then extensive damage can be caused to the internals.

The transmission parts are cleaned, checked and lubricated, the transmission oil replaced, exhaust and rear wheel removed to clean the rear brakes, this is all part of a major service.

Engine Rebuild

The Vespa Px200 is your traditional type scooter, it is the original and the only manual one available on the market, all our technicians have extensive experience in rebuilding, servicing and tunning this model as they can be a little quirky.
